Based in Maitland, Ontario, Aultman Furniture is a family-run business that began when a newly minted stay-at-home dad decided he would build high-quality, sustainable furniture out of his garage. Using local Canadian resources, the company works with reclaimed, salvaged wood and eco-friendly finishes to create simply beautiful wood furniture and cutting boards.
Why We Love Them
To start with the obvious, Aultman’s handmade cutting boards are gorgeous. Made from salvaged cherry and walnut wood, they come in unique shapes and stunning tones, perfectly topped off with a subtle, non-toxic finish.
But there’s more. The cutting boards are made from salvaged lumber, meaning Aultman only use trees that have to be taken down anyway, either because they’re dying or at risk of falling and causing damage.
So while we’re chopping away on these beauties, we know we’re helping to reduce waste and promote sustainability. It’s all good.
