At terra20, our story begins with a simple goal: to make healthy living easy.

This goal was born out of the struggle co-Founder Steve Kaminski faced while sourcing sustainable materials when building his new home. While watching a hockey game with friend Bill Stewart, Steve mentioned how difficult it had been to source sustainable materials for his project. Wouldn't it be nice if there was a single source for sustainable products?

That casual remark was the start of something big. It fuelled a desire to create an entirely new concept on the Canadian retail market.

"Our goal was to make it easy to buy healthier, more sustainable products," notes Steve. "We also wanted to create connections between our guests at the store and the vendors that make the products. We thought this personal connection was important to form a bond of trust between the vendor, the guest and us at terra20."

Diligence and transparency are the pillars of terra20's product curation. We constantly seek out sustainable, environmentally conscious products, and learn about their origins – who makes them, how they are made, and what ingredients and materials are used. All - not just some - of our products are cruelty-free and free of harmful chemicals, while responsibly sourced from ethical brand partners. We curate products that are Free of Harmful Chemicals, Vegan, Made in Canada, Organic, Fair Trade, Waste Reducing, Certified, High Efficiency, and Sustainable

Together, Steve & Bill have created a different type of modern retail environment. One where people can easily find healthier, more sustainable home and body products under one roof.  One where products are carefully selected from vendors big and small, based on a system of ethics developed to both guide our buying principles and help customers find brands that fit their values. One that has created a community that thrives on innovative products produced by brands, the customers that use them, and our commitment to making it easier to make healthier choices for both people and the planet.
